Over 100 alleged victims are set to file lawsuits against rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs and others for rape, sexual assault, and sexual exploitation, a U.S. lawyer announced on Tuesday.
“This is a significant case that we will pursue vigorously,” said Texas-based attorney Tony Buzbee. “We will thoroughly investigate and hold accountable any individual or entity involved or that profited from this egregious conduct.”
This legal action follows Combs’ indictment last month on three criminal charges, accusing him of sexually abusing women and coercing them into drug-fueled sex parties through threats and violence.
Accusations against Combs have escalated since last year, when singer Cassie, born Casandra Ventura, alleged that Combs subjected her to over a decade of abuse, including physical coercion, drug use, and a 2018 rape.
Subsequent lawsuits have painted a similar picture of Combs as a violent figure who exploited his fame to victimize women.
Combs has pleaded not guilty to the criminal charges and remains in jail awaiting trial.
