Condolences and praises are still being expressed for the late veteran Nollywood actor, John Okafor, fondly remembered as Mr. Ibu, following his passing on Saturday.
The 62-year-old actor passed away from cardiac arrest after experiencing a relapse about a week ago, leading to his urgent hospitalization at Evercare Hospital in Lagos.
Last year, he underwent surgery to amputate one of his legs, a decision he made after reaching out to his fans for support and prayers.
With a filmography of over 200 Nollywood movies, including notable titles like “Mr. Ibu” (2004) and “Mr. Ibu and His Son,” he became an icon in the industry.
Colleagues from the film industry, as well as his fans, politicians, and others who have enjoyed his performances, continue to offer heartfelt tributes in his honor.
