Popular crossdresser, Bobrisky loses father

Idris Okuneye, the Nigerian crossdresser popularly known as Bobrisky, has lost his father.

The media personality took to his Facebook page on Monday to announce the demise of his father.

“Guys, I lost my dad this morning,” he wrote in a terse post.

It is understood that preparations for his burial are underway.

In 2021, Bobrisky surprised his father with a new Lexus SUV as a birthday present.

Bobrisky has severally made headlines after claiming to be Nigeria’s first transgender. He once admitted that he severed his genitals.

In 2019, the National Council for Arts and Culture (NCAC) described him as a “national disaster” but human rights groups issued a statement to protest allegations of threat and harassment against him.

He had previously revealed that he opted for crossdressing in order to make ends meet after 25 years of being a man.

“Dis message is for you all to read before you judge me. I was formally a man for almost 25yrs, nothing to show for it. I kept struggling even with my certificate as a graduate of accounting in University of Lagos, nothing to still show for it,” he said.

“I saw how all my females friends were cashing out back then. I went home and think about my life. If I join robbery they will end up killing me, secondly I don’t even have that heart to think to that dimension or to even scam people of their sweat.”
