Controversial singer Portable has reacted to the sudden death of Afrobeats artiste Destiny Boy, asserting that the late musician was more gifted than Grammy-winning star Wizkid.

The Zazu crooner shared his views in a video circulating on social media, where he reflected on Destiny Boy’s struggles within the music industry and the lack of support he faced.

Speaking emotionally, Portable said:

“Destiny Boy, we miss you. He knew how to sing more than Wizkid, but he didn’t have any helper. God, please don’t let me die young. Make sure you don’t die because there is fake love everywhere.”

Portable further alleged that Destiny Boy had been quietly battling serious health challenges and endured many difficulties without adequate backing.

He also questioned the singer’s decision to part ways with his former associates, the 2T Boys, noting that his situation appeared to worsen afterward.

“If he died at his babalawo’s place, it was because of his sickness. He had been facing a lot on his own. I don’t know why he left his helpers, 2T Boys. Everything changed for him when he left them,” he added.

The singer’s remarks have sparked mixed reactions online, with some users agreeing with his comments on the harsh realities of the music industry, while others criticised him for making such statements during a period of mourning.
