Prince Harry reveals Meghan Markle’s first Christmas with the royals was a special day for her
Prince Harry took over as the guest editor of the Radio 4 Today programme, where he spoke about his fiancee, Meghan Markle’s first Christmas with the royal family.
The Prince revealed that he and Meghan spent Christmas with his brother Prince William, Kate Middleton and their kids, Prince George and Princess Charlotte. He revealed that for Meghan, it was like spending time with “the family she never had”.
Prince Harry told the audience of the flagship programme: “The family loved having her there. We had an amazing time staying with my brother and sister-in-law and running around with the kids.
“It’s like the family she’s never had. It was fantastic having her there. There’s always that family part of Christmas, there’s always that work element as well and I think together we had an amazing time.”
Harry admitted there were a fair few royal family traditions he had to explain to his bride-to-be.
He joked: “I think we’ve got one of the biggest families that I know of and every family is complex as well so she’s done an absolutely amazing job, getting in there.”
Meghan joined the rest of the royal family when she was greeted by adoring crowds as she attended church at Sandringham.
Prince Harry got to interview very special guests when he took over as guest editor of Radio 4’s Today programme. He interviewed his father, Prince Charles. He also got to meet Anthony Joshua on the programme. He also interviewed former US President, Barack Obama.
During his interview with Obama, the prince joked with former US President Barack Obama about whether he had been invited to his wedding next May, when asked if he was on the guest list.
Harry said: “I don’t know about that, we haven’t even put the invite or the guest list together, who knows if he’s going to be invited or not, I wouldn’t want to ruin that surprise.”
The former Suits actress was the star attraction at the Christmas Day gathering with hundreds of fans giving her the royal seal of approval.
