After twelve weeks of fierce competition, stunning vocals, and captivating performances, Purp has emerged victorious in Nigerian Idol Season 10, becoming the first female winner since 2014.
The grand finale aired live on Sunday, featuring a thrilling head-to-head showdown between Purp and fellow finalist Raymu. The electrifying episode kept audiences on the edge of their seats.
Hosted by IK Osakioduwa, the night featured star-studded appearances, musical tributes, and high-energy performances that made the finale truly unforgettable.
Both finalists gave outstanding performances, but Purp ultimately won the hearts of Nigerians across the country, securing the title with the highest number of votes.
As this season’s winner, Purp walks away with a grand prize package that includes a brand-new SUV, ₦30 million in cash, a DStv Explora with a one-year premium subscription, and a music contract to kickstart her professional journey.
In an emotional speech after her win, Purp said:
“Thank you so much, guys. Thank you so much, Nigeria. I’m really grateful and honoured for this. Thank you for your support. I love you all so much. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!”
Judges Omawumi, Ric Hassani, and Iyanya, alongside guest judge 9ice, commended both finalists for their growth, consistency, and determination throughout the season.
This year’s competition began with online auditions for Nigerians aged 16 to 30, which closed on February 2. After several weeks of screening and live shows beginning on May 25, the Top 10 contestants—Mikki, Raymu, Ellacentric, Kristopher, Sally, Boss Lady, Brammy, Jkenova, Lawrence, and Purp—battled for the crown each week.
Judges assessed each act based on vocal strength, stage presence, and star quality, but in the end, it was the viewers’ votes that decided their fate.
