Rapper Killer Mike, who secured victories in all three categories he was nominated for at the Grammys on Sunday, was reportedly detained, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

A video shared on social media by a reporter from the outlet captured the rapper, known by his real name Michael Render, being escorted in handcuffs to an undisclosed location at Crypto.Com Arena, the venue for the Grammys.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, an arena security official stated that the rapper’s detention was for a reason unrelated to the awards ceremony.

The Los Angeles Police Department did not promptly address an AFP inquiry regarding the incident.

While seemingly in the duration of his detainment, Killer Mike posted a series of emojis on Twitter symbolizing his three awards and a clean sweep, accompanied by the words: “Thank God.”

Killer Mike secured Grammy victories in the categories of best rap album for “Michael,” as well as best rap song and performance for “Scientists & Engineers.”

“I consciously set out to make the best album in the world,” he told journalists backstage.

“I consciously set out to tell the story of a young Black boy growing up on the west side of Atlanta so that the world can see that our narrative isn’t just victimization and losing, but we can win, we can thrive and prosper.”
