American rapper, Rick Ross was attacked during his performance at Vancouver, Canada’s Ignite Music Festival.

After playing Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us,” a diss tune aimed at his Canadian colleague Drake, to close out his set, Ross reportedly encountered some males, according to TMZ.

Once the 48-year-old had left the stage, the men—who were reportedly numbering in the fifteen range—surrounded Ross and his entourage.

One of the males allegedly gave Ross a punch to the face during the verbal altercation, which swiftly turned physical.

It’s yet unclear if anyone was hurt or taken into custody by the police.

In May, Kendrick Lamar and Drake had been at loggerheads as the rappers released several diss tracks aimed at each other.

Ross was one of the rappers who expressed support for Lamar, something over which Drake took a swipe at him in the track ‘Push Ups’.

Rick Ross would clap back at the Canadian rapper in his diss track titled ‘Champagne Moments’.

Born William Leonard, Rick Ross founded his label Maybach Music Group (MMG) in 2008.

The label has signed artistes like Meek Mill, Wale, French Montana, and Omarion, among others.

Ross has been nominated in nine Grammy award categories.

The music executive teamed up with P-Square on their hit single ‘Beautiful Oyinye’ in 2011.

In a similar story, Drake faced legal action from the estate of American hip-hop icon 2Pac, whose voice was artificially synthesised on a recent diss track featuring Kendrick Lamar.

The attorney, Howard King, demanded in a cease-and-desist letter that Drake remove the diss track within twenty-four hours, failing which the estate will “pursue all of its legal remedies” against him.

“Not only is the record a flagrant violation of 2Pac’s publicity and the estate’s legal rights, it is also a blatant abuse of the legacy of one of the greatest hip-hop artists of all time,” the letter partly reads.
