Nigerian artist Adewale Emmanuel Mayowa, also known as Mayorkun, has filed a N1 billion defamation lawsuit against TikTok influencer Nicki DaBarbie.

The lawsuit is based on claims made by Nicki DaBarbie that Mayorkun participated in occult rituals with fellow singer Skiibii.

Nicki DaBarbie has publicly accused Mayorkun and Skiibii of trying to utilise her for occult rituals, according to reports from Within Nigeria.

Mayorkun has acted quickly to protect his name by filing a lawsuit in response to these grave accusations.

Mayorkun addressed a letter to Nicki DaBarbie requesting that she stop saying disparaging things about him and Skiibii through his legal counsel.

The letter demanded that the offending information be removed from all social media platforms within 24 hours and rejected all of the charges made by the TikTok influencer.

In addition, Mayorkun’s legal team has requested N1 billion in damages to cover lost endorsements, emotional distress, and legal costs brought on by the slander.

In addition to the financial compensation, Nicki DaBarbie has been instructed to issue a formal apology to Mayorkun on the same social media platforms where the defamatory remarks were made.
