Rapper Falz and Nigerian singer-songwriter Simisola Ogunleye, also known as Simi, collaborated on the song “Borrow Me Your Baby.”
The two musicians once again showcased their musical talents in the Friday-released single, which turned into a phenomenal smash.
Simi and Falz recount the story of a mystery woman in “Borrow Me Your Baby” who resisted being tricked into adultery.
Falz’s rap stanza on the song serves to enhance Simi’s distinctive flair.
Falz collaborated with Simi on the song ‘Jamb Question’ in 2017. With several songs like “Enough,” “Chemistry,” and “Foreign,” their collaborative album “Chemistry” from 2016 was an enormous hit.
After starting his music career in 2009, Falz has become well-known for his activism and acting.
He gained fame with the song ‘Marry Me’, featuring Poe and Yemi Alade. His debut album, ‘Wazap Guy’, was released in 2014.
Recall that, Simi disclosed that she and her colleague Falz share a strong musical “chemistry.”
The singer claimed that many people mistakenly believed that they were in a sexual connection when they were on Angela Yee’s podcast, “Way Up.”
She also made a hint about a new song she’s working on with Falz that will drop later this month.
Simi said,
“I have one more single coming out at the end of this month. I can’t say the title now but I can tell you who I’m featuring on it. It’s Falz!
“This is interesting because Falz and I have a history. Before I got married, we did an EP and everything. People thought we were dating. We had a couple of songs together and people loved them. They were like, ‘You have a good chemistry.’ So we decided to do a joint EP and we made an EP called ‘Chemistry.’ People really loved it.
“So we want to do something again for the culture. It’s kind of a funny song. I’m really excited and I can’t wait for people to hear it.”
