The former member of the music group Plantashun Boiz, Blackface, is a Nigerian dancehall artist who has call for their reunion.

Plantashun Boiz, who formed in 2000 alongside 2Baba and Faze, broke up in 2004 but got back together for a short while in 2007 to record an album.

Blackface recently shared a throwback picture of the three on Instagram.

He also accompanied the post the question:

“‘To be or not to be?’ @fazealone @official2baba @blackfacenaija @plantashunboizofficial, why not?”

He urged fans to join the mission, emphasizing that there is “unity is strength, not division”.

“#plantashunboiz The question now is “To be or not to be?” @fazealone @officialzbaba @blackfacenaija @plantashunboizofficial and why?” Blackface asked.

“My people oya make una talk put mouth for this matter! We are on a mission for world peace and it’s not a small-time thing! Unity is strength and not division Let’s go champs.”

Recall that, Blackface expressed his doubts about the Plantashun Boiz group chance of reforming.

From the late 1990s until the mid-2000s, the Plantashun Boiz group—which featured Blackface, 2Face, also known as 2Baba, and Faze—ruled the Nigerian music landscape. The group broke up in 2004, got back together in 2007, and then broke up again.

Blackface stated unequivocally in a recent interview with Channels TV that there was minimal possibility of the group ever getting back together.

He added that if a reunion was possible it would have long happened.

“I don’t see that [Plantashun Boiz reunion] happening. If it is something that would have happened, the members would have deemed it fit to sit down and discuss going forward. Of which they haven’t done and don’t want to do. I don’t want to cajole someone into doing what they don’t want to do.”

On his relationship with his former bandmates, Blackface said, “I talk to Faze and I talk to brothers of Innocent Idibia [2Baba]. His family are all my friends. But personally me and him we have nothing to discuss. It has to be business. There is no need waiting for who is not ready to be committed to a project.”
