‘Start your family early’, Actress Laide Bakare advises young career women

Popular Nollywood actress Laide Bakare has encouraged young, career-driven women to prioritize their families while embarking on their careers.

In a recent interview on Nollywood on Radio, Bakare emphasized that if they focus on this aspect early on, they will have the opportunity to dedicate the rest of their lives to advancing their careers.

Her words: “If you are aspiring to be a superstar, successful in your career as a young girl, I would advise you to get married and have kids early.

“So that you can have the rest of your years to push your career because the family area is very important.”

She recounted her personal experience, explaining that she was not interested in marriage when she had her first child.

She said, “Maybe I should retract that because I do not mean marriage. I never thought of marriage. The time I had my first child, I just wanted a baby”

The actress reiterated her position, clarifying that her advice focuses on building a family, rather than strictly emphasizing marriage.

“So the advice is not to get married early but start having a family,” Laide Bakare added.
