Singer May D has urged fans against comparing him to his colleagues, particularly Wizkid, stating that he is a unique talent who stands out in the industry.

On his X, May D wrote, “Don’t ever compare me to anyone in this industry again!! Especially Wiz!! I’m a different breed! God’s baby.”

“This isn’t the first time he has addressed comparisons to Wizkid. In the past, he claimed that if he had remained with Square Records, Wizkid wouldn’t be on his level today.

In another story, May D spoke on alleged mistreatment while working for P-Square’s label, Square Records.

May D disclosed in a recent Honest Bunch podcast that while he was signed to the company, he was without basic amenities like a comfortable place to live and a bank account.

He claimed that the reason he didn’t have a bank account was because he lacked the funds to start one.

He claimed that after fleeing his house, Davido, a budding artist at the time, sought safety with him.

But he claimed that Davido was taken aback by how dilapidated May D’s room at P-Square’s house was.

“When Davido was running from his dad, he came to my room in P-Square’s house, he was like ‘May-D is this where you stay? I can’t sleep here oh’…If I had a room, it would have been cooler.

“For the four years I was with P-Square, I didn’t have a bank account. That wasn’t their fault. It’s only when someone has money that he opens an account,” he said.

The singer left Square Records on August 21, 2012, due to internal conflicts, despite having joined the label in 2011.

The 40-year-old rapper hinted that their brief romance ended because the Psquare twin brothers cost him a deal with Akon in a clip from an unpublished Honest Bunch podcast episode.
