Music director TG Omori has addressed allegations that he was not given financial assistance during his health problem by his network in the music industry.
On August 26, Omori, who had been fighting renal failure, had a transplant at St. Nicholas Hospital in Lagos.
The director of the music video claimed that after three attempts at surgery, the transplant was unsuccessful.
In the midst of the heated public debate around Omori’s health, singer Portable criticised celebrities, alleging they were not paying for the therapy.
He likened the alleged lack of support to the money donated to the transvestite Bobrisky, who was imprisoned for misusing currency.
Portable further described the camaraderie in Nigeria’s music industry as “fake”.
“TG Omori has a kidney problem and celebrities are not donating money or kidneys for him,” he said.
“But Victor Osimhen and others donated money for Bobrisky who has no value. The industry is full of fake love.”
In response, TG Omori clarified that he had received support from industry colleagues even before his health issues became public.
“All I needed was your prayers, moral support, and love. This I am grateful to have gotten in abundance,” the video director said.
“The industry and friends have been solidly behind me months before it all came public. Please ignore the clout-desperate dogs.”
