“The word ‘boss’ doesn’t exist in my dictionary”- Olamide

Famous Nigerian rapper, musician, and record label owner Olamide Gbenga Adedeji, better known by his stage name Olamide, disclosed in an interview that he prefers to be referred to as a leader rather a “Boss.”

The 35-year-old claimed the word boss does not exist in his language. In 2012, he launched Yahoo Boy No Laptop, YBNL Nation, at a young age.

The “Rock” hitmaker claims that his perception of those around him as brothers and sisters, as opposed to coworkers, makes him a leader.

Olamide continues by saying that one of his duties as a leader is to mentor people so they can succeed in life.

The rapper is without a doubt a pioneer in the Nigerian music scene, having helped both artists on his label and other labels gain recognition and establish themselves in the business.

Olamide however concluded that he learned all his leadership skills from his mentor, ID Cabasa.

In his words;

“The word boss doesn’t exist in my dictionary, cause I see everybody around me like brothers. my sisters and all that it is not about me being a boss but a leader, the role of a leader is to lead so that other people can move ahead and progress in life.”
