‘Their works will remain an inspiration to many’, Tinubu mourns Mr Ibu, Sisi Quadri

President Bola Tinubu grieved the deaths of famous Nollywood actors John Okafor, well known as Mr Ibu, and Tolani Quadri Oyebamiji, also known as Sisi Quadri.

The president praised the actors as geniuses whose work provided joy and relief to millions of Nigerians.

He urged those who have lost loved ones to “take solace in the truth that even though these beloved Nigerians have passed on, they will always live through their works which will remain an inspiration and a fount of good cheer for many.”

He also expressed condolences to the Actors Guild of Nigeria, the Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN), and the whole artistic community, reassuring them of his support, thoughts, and prayers during this difficult time.

Sisi Quadri died on Friday at the general hospital in Ogbomoso where he was receiving treatment for an undisclosed illness. His passing coincided with the premiere of his most recent film, Anikulapo: Rise of the Spectre, in which he plays one of three ghosts in Kunle Afolayan’s mystic epic saga.

Mr Ibu died died of cardiac arrest after he had a relapse about a week ago and was rushed to Evercare hospital in Lagos on Saturday.
