The mother of 28-year-old musician Oghenemine Ogidi, widely known as OG Millan, has spoken out, claiming that police actions have led to the deaths of two of her sons in separate incidents.
Her statement comes amid growing controversy surrounding Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Nuhu Usman, who is currently in custody over the killing of her younger son in Delta State.
The woman’s account surfaced in a viral video capturing a condolence visit by Harrison Gwamnishu, a former aide to the Delta State governor, and his team.
In the footage, the grieving mother became emotional as she recounted her losses, stating that the latest incident has brought back painful memories of a previous tragedy involving another of her children.
“My two children were killed by the police,” she lamented. “They first took my son in 2022, and now they have taken another one from me again. How do I survive this?”
Authorities have confirmed that the officer involved in the most recent incident has been detained.
The shooting reportedly happened during an operation by officers from the Effurun Area Command, who acted on intelligence about a suspect allegedly in possession of a firearm.
Police reports indicated that the victim, identified as Mene Ogidi, was found with a Beretta pistol and ammunition. However, a video circulating online has heightened public concern, as it appears to show the suspect already restrained and pleading for his life before being shot.
