‘They’ll soon return to their senses’ — Veteran actor react to Toyin Abraham, Funke Akindele’s rift

The veteran actor, Taiwo ‘Ogogo’ Hassan, has reacted to the tense moment involving Toyin Abraham and Funke Akindele.

In clips that circulated online from Iyabo Ojo’s film premiere, Abraham was seen approaching Akindele to greet her, but Akindele appeared to ignore the gesture.

The incident generated mixed reactions on social media, with some criticising Akindele’s response, while others argued that Abraham should not have attempted the greeting if both were not on good terms.

Speaking in an interview with Feel Right TV, Hassan said the matter does not concern him, adding that he prefers to stay out of disputes involving women.

He noted that such disagreements are often blown out of proportion, making it difficult for outsiders to intervene.

Hassan also questioned the reason for the disagreement, stating that both actresses are already successful and would eventually settle their differences.

“If Toyin and Funke have sense, they should know God has favored them. I don’t interfere in women’s matter,” he said.

“Something that will happen that men will just laugh over, if it happens to women, it is always worse than Hitler’s war so it is hard for anybody to interfere.

“Any man that interferes is stupid. What is the reason for the fight? God blessed the two of them already and the next thing they think is right is to be fighting. Very soon they will come back to their senses. It is not even my business.”

The rivalry between the two filmmakers dates back to 2021 following the release of Abraham’s film ‘The Ghost and the Tout Too’, which drew comparisons with Akindele’s box office successes.

In 2024, Abraham addressed the speculation, attributing the perceived tension to competition within the industry and circulating rumours.
