Nollywood actress Linda Ejiofor has spoken about a challenging period in her career, revealing that she once felt her growth in the movie industry had come to a standstill before her recent success at the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA).
Speaking in an interview with Nolywire conducted by her husband, Ibrahim Suleiman, the actress said she turned to God during that difficult moment in her life.
“Three years ago, I thought my career was stagnant and not going anywhere, and I asked God for something, anything. And He gave me two beautiful stories,” she said.
Ejiofor also credited her husband for supporting and encouraging her at a time when she doubted her own performances.
“I am so grateful to God, grateful to my husband because he stood by me through this. He told me that I did well in both movies. To be honest, I didn’t believe him,” she added.
Her breakthrough came at the 2026 AMVCA, where she won Best Lead Actress for The Serpent’s Gift and Best Supporting Actress for The Herd on the same night.
The double win has been described as one of the standout moments of the award ceremony and a major milestone in her acting career.
