Fast-rising Nigerian actor Tobi Makinde answered a flurry of questions concerning rumours of a love relationship with his well-known mother figure in the film business, Funke Akindele, during a recent sit-down with media personality Bolanle Onistory.
During his appearance on the most recent episode of the Oyinmomo podcast, Tobi Makinde categorically refuted rumours that Funke Akindele was seeing younger men, including himself.
The 35-year-old actor made it clear that he was not involved in any way in Funke Akindele and JJC Skillz’s breakup, saying that whatever transpired between them was private.
Talking about his favourite role outside of his own in the hit film Funke Akindele, which he starred in, Tobi said he really liked his co-star Uzor Arukwe’s interpretation of Chidokie. He gave Arukwe acclaim for how he played the part in the film.
Tobi Makinde recalled with fondness the time that Funke Akindele approached him and enticed him to collaborate with her.
He described the enthralling event and underlined how Akindele’s gesture signalled a wonderful turning point in his career with a hint of adoration in his tone.
Filmmaker, Funke Akindele’s film, “A Tribe Called Judah,” made an impressive mark at the box office, amassing a total of N1. 5 billion across cinemas in Nigeria, the UK, and other African nations and bagged nominations at the forthcoming AMVCA awards.
