Nigerian singer Timaya has shared his views on having children outside marriage and his stance on wedlock.
The Dem Mama crooner stirred reactions online after a now-viral clip showed him suggesting that having children outside marriage is preferable, while also expressing doubts about the effectiveness of marriage.
In the clip, Timaya and Paul Okoye were seen appearing to offer relationship and marital advice to their colleague, Phyno.
“Just born pikin, pikin go grow. This marriage thing no dey work,” he said in pidgin, sparking mixed reactions from those in the room in the viral video.
Timaya is a father of four children with three different women. He shares his first two daughters, Emmanuella and Gracey, with Barbara Fumnaya Nwaokolo; his son, Emmanuel, with Tamar; and his youngest child, Maya, with Dunnie Onasanya.
