The Nollywood actress, Doris Ogala, has disclosed that she is battling intense suicidal thoughts amid an ongoing and bitter dispute with Chris Okafor, founder of Grace Nation Ministry.

The controversy follows Ogala’s allegations that Okafor reneged on a marriage promise after a long-term romantic relationship and later proposed to another woman.

According to the actress, the relationship started in 2017, during which she said she ended her former marriage at Okafor’s urging, only to feel betrayed after years of closeness and repeated assurances of marriage.

Ogala alleged that the cleric’s actions have taken a serious toll on her mental and emotional wellbeing. She further claimed that Okafor circulated explicit videos of her without her permission.

In a separate emotional video shared on her Instagram page, Ogala raised additional allegations, including claims of financial exploitation and persistent harassment.

She also explained that a video currently circulating online — in which Okafor preached against marrying a “promiscuous woman” — was not a recent response to her situation but a sermon from 2023, which she said she personally witnessed while they were still in a relationship.

Ogala further alleged that she financially supported Okafor and some of his associates to secure a contract but was not adequately reimbursed.

“You might wake up tomorrow, and I will not be in this world again. I know the state of mind I am in right now. That video was made in 2023 when I was still dating Chris Okafor. That video is not referring to me. As a matter of fact, I was in the church when Chris made that video,” she said.

“… Chris contacted me to help him and his friends. And what did he pay me back with?”

She also accused Okafor of orchestrating her detention in Abuja and, in another instance, having her arrested and held for two days at the Owerri State CID just days before her brother’s burial.

“He arrested me. He detained me in Abuja. He also arrested me four days before my brother’s burial. And kept me in CID in Owerri for two days. For nothing. I did nothing,” she said.

“Because his friend gave me money, and he took the money. And I started asking for the money. He paid me so much and got me arrested for defamation. Chris has done a lot of things to me. I am not stable. I am suicidal. I am saying this from the bottom of my heart. It took me a lot to say all this.

“This person you are seeing here is suicidal. I am being very honest. I am devastated.”

As of the time of reporting, Okafor has not publicly responded to the allegations raised by Ogala.
