War Against Drug Abuse: Tonto Dikeh blasts NDLEA over appointment of Naira Marley as advocate

Nollywood Actress Tonto Dikeh has vehemently kicked against (NDLEA) Nigeria Drug Law Enforcement Agency’s decision to sign Rapper Naira Marley as an advocate of the War Against Drug Abuse (WADA), a campaign launched by the anti-drug agency.

The ‘Mafo’ crooner paid a visit to the Abuja headquarters of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) on Thursday, where he met with the Chief Executive Officer, Buba Marwa, to declare support for the campaign against drug abuse.

On Thursday, August 17, the agency spokesperson Femi Babafemi wrote;

See who’s on board ⁦@ndlea_nigeria⁩ War Against substance Abuse, WADA, advocacy campaign; it’s your fav, Naira Marley. Watch out for the video of his message to Marlians and Nigerian youths here tomorrow,” 

 

In a similar post, NDLEA, on its Instagram page, posted photos with the Singer and wrote:

Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (Retd) with music star Naira Marley when the artiste paid a visit to the National Headquarters of the Agency in Abuja to declare support for the War Against Substance Abuse on Thursday 17th August 17, 2023.” 

Making her presence felt in the comment section, Tonto Dikeh unleashed a torrent of criticism towards the agency, leaving no holds barred.

In a brazen display of determination, she went a step further by declaring her unwavering readiness to face any potential repercussions should they decide to target her.

Tonto Dikeh wrote;

You guys are the most unserious set of folks!! And if you come for me I’ll be ready!! Shit hole!!! shittier home!!”

Meanwhile, Naira Marley has implored his fans popularly known as ‘Marlians’ to stop the abuse of drugs.

The singer made the appeal on Thursday while announcing his new partnership with the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in their campaign against drug abuse.

According to the singer, the abuse of substance is not healthy and can lead individuals to crimes.

Naira Marley opened up that he keyed into the anti-drug campaign because of his intention to see the streets cleansed of drug abuse.

He said,

”I will like to urge my fans, the Marlians, all Nigerian youths to stop doing drugs because it is not good for your wellbeing, let’s all stop substance abuse in every form, I have keyed into this campaign to support NDLEA to stop drugs in the streets. Please join us. It is really not good; it makes you go back into crime.”
