Nollywood actress Oloruntimilehin Bosede Bukola, also known as Kiitan Bukola, has spoken up about her personal challenges and how her early experiences affected her views on marriage.
In an interview with Biola Bayo, the actress said that, while she enjoys the idea of marriage, she is afraid of it because of her strong desire to provide a stable and loving home for her unborn children.
Kiitan Bukola noted that her concerns derive from her upbringing, which was characterized by the absence of her father.
She said that her father had other children, many of whom she has never seen, with some relationships made solely through internet platforms.
“The absence of paternal love and care has left a lasting impact on me,” she shared, reflecting on how these experiences have shaped her aspirations and concerns about family life.
The actress’s heartfelt revelations shed light on the emotional challenges she continues to navigate, as she strives to break the cycle and create a nurturing environment for her future family. In Kiitan Bukola’s words:
“I love marriage but at the same time, I am scared of it. Because I don’t want a situation whereby I will have my kids outside wedlock.
“There are some of my father’s children that I don’t know. The funny thing is I met some online. I didn’t have a father’s care the way I wanted it like I wanted that parental love – father, and mother together. Let me enjoy my home. It hurts me most of the time because I didn’t really enjoy it.”
The actress also shared her humble beginnings, recounting how she hawked food as a child. She recalled:
“I used to hawk pounded yam and efo back in the days. I will wake up at 3:30 am because we had to take it to Sabo in Ondo town.”
