Nollywood actress Shaffy Bello has revealed that she favors traveling by air or water rather than by road in Nigeria, pointing to concerns over poor infrastructure and security.
Speaking in a recent interview with VJ Adams, Bello said she deliberately avoids road journeys, particularly trips beyond the Lagos–Ibadan corridor, because of the state of the roads and the difficulties that come with long-distance travel.
She added that this preference has had an impact on her social life, as it restricts her ability to attend events or visit people who live farther away.
The actress noted that her travel choices are largely influenced by safety and convenience, adding that these factors play a major role in how she navigates movement within the country.
“I prefer water and air transportation. I don’t like road trips. I can do road trips abroad but in Nigeria, no, thank you,” she said.
Bello added, “I can only consider road trips in Nigeria only if the person I am going to see is extremely dear to me. And everybody knows me now, they go, ‘Don’t invite her, she won’t come.’ Once it is farther than Ibadan, count me out”, she said.
