Nigerian singer David Adeleke popularly known as Davido opens up on his musical journey for the past 14 years.

In a recent interview with Kiss Fresh FM, he talks about how working nonstop for the past 14 years has made him feel like a 60-year-old even though he is only 31.

Davido enumerated some of the ways his life has altered since he first became famous, such as getting married and having six children.

The musician claims that if one examines his life from the time he was 17 to the present, when he is nearly 32, he has had many unique experiences, including the kind of people he has encountered, the locations he has visited, and more.

But Davido was also thankful that he was still relevant in the industry, since not many individuals have that. In his own words:

“Six kids after, I’m a father, I’m a husband, I feel like I’m 60. If you calculate it from when I was 17 years old till now, what I’ve been through, the places I’ve been, the experiences I’ve had, the kind of people I’ve met and the kind of people I know, it’s a lot.

We’re grateful. A lot of people don’t have 14 years and still popping, it rarely happens like that, for us to just have the opportunity to keep going.”

Speaking on music and how he has excelled at it so far, Davido said:

“Everybody’s road is different. I came in just loving music. I didn’t need money, I didn’t need nothing. I came in just having a love for music and entertainment, and I knew I had something to offer the world.

So I feel like that is why I just stayed at it and stayed at it. I have been doing this for a very long time. For like 13, 14 years, and I am not bored. I am not bored at all. I don’t think there is a retirement soon.

For now, we are still going. We still have somewhere to get to, somewhere to go. And then after we are done, we will leave the blueprint for the people that come after us. And when they are done, they will leave the blueprint for those who come after them. I am just happy that at least we kicked in the door.
