The Nigerian comedian Josh2funny has explained why he no longer dresses like a woman in his skits.

The comic claimed that while portraying Mama Felicia, he received unsolicited approaches from fans in a recent interview with the Honest Bunch podcast.

He claimed that in order to save himself more shame, he chose to give up on the Mama Felicia persona and adopt Brother Zacchaeus.

“You see, difference between me and some other people wey dey do female character, my own was straight comedy. Anybody wey go see me like me no really get sense, no really know where e dey go because I made sure it was stupid,” he said.

“Mama Felicia is a stupid character, it was straight stupid. I had a lot of advances. E get one guy, the guy came to my WhatsApp and was like I really like you, I went straight to him and I said bro I’m going to pray and you’re going to be blind in two weeks, the guy begin beg me. Why you go see me, like me?

“E join why I leave the character. It was Mama Felicia I turned Brother Zacchaeus. Instead of wearing female dress, I had to drop it and start putting on male clothes, using the same accent. It was becoming embarrassing for me because I mean I just want to make people laugh.”

In a different story, Josh2Funny discusses the competitiveness in the comedy industry.

Josh2funny, who appeared on “The Honest Bunch” podcast, refuted those who deny the presence of competition, asserting that it is a genuine feature of the industry.

With his content translated into other languages in Europe and Asia, including Mandarin, Hindi, Russian, and French, he boldly said that he is unique in the comedy industry.

He was particularly upset with colleagues who imitate his style without providing proper recognition.
