Cubana Chief Priest has again urged Igbo people to support Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general elections.
Speaking at a recent City Boy Movement (CBM) rally in Imo State, the socialite admitted that he did not support Tinubu during the 2023 election because he wanted to identify as an “Igbo boy” backing Peter Obi.
He described that decision as a “mistake” and called his previous stance “foolish,” saying he has now reconsidered his position.
Cubana stated that Igbo people are seeking a fair share in Nigeria’s political structure and should be strategic with their votes going forward.
“At the past election, I did not support Tinubu because I wanted to be an Igbo boy by supporting Peter Obi and I made some careless mistakes. I was a fool then but not anymore now. We are just looking for a fair share in this government,” he said.
“We Igbos are the people that was defeated during the war and it has not been easy for us in Nigeria since then. That is why we want to be smart this time around so we can get what we want. We do not want to lose again and we will never wastes our votes again.
“That is why we are standing with City Boy Movement and Tinubu. Also they would not tell you that Seyi Tinubu married an Igbo girl. He is our brother and our own.”
In February, Cubana had also called on the south-east to support Tinubu in the forthcoming elections, expressing hope that the president would hand over to an Igbo man at the end of his tenure.
The socialite was earlier appointed as the Imo director of the City Boy Movement, a youth-focused support group campaigning for Tinubu’s re-election.
