Why I was ordained bishop of C&S church – Shina Peters

The renowned Nigerian juju singer Shina Peters has disclosed the rationale behind his 2021 appointment as a bishop in the Cherubim and Seraphim Church of God.

The 66-year-old artist claimed in a recent interview with NAN that God gave the church’s officials the order to consecrate him as “the first bishop of the church.”

He claimed that his frequent usage of hymns in his songs and performances was the reason for the order, “which has led to the conversion of many souls to Christianity.”

Peters acknowledged that he first attempted to evade the ordination but that God ultimately “arrested” him.

“The Almighty God said that I should be made the first bishop in the Cherubim and Seraphim Church of God. He told the leaders of the church,” he said.

“God said this is because I am the only musician who has been consistent in using hymns in my music and performances, and with this, I have won many souls for Christ.

“You know my music is usually taken from hymns. And I tried to dodge the ordination for a while until God finally got me arrested.”
