Nigerian singer, Michael Adebayo Olayinka, better known by his stage name Ruger, has stated that he has no plans to rebrand anytime soon.

The artist, who is well-known for his songs about heartbreak, declared that since he is an authority on the subject, he will keep singing about poisonous relationships.

Ruger referred to himself as “the heartbreak master and toxic relationship master” during a recent Instagram live session with admirers.

However, he added that although he loves ladies, he will not alter his “toxic lyrics.” As stated by Ruger:

“I’m not undergoing any rebranding anytime soon. I am the heartbreak master, the toxic relationship master, the scattered relationship master. So, you can’t change who I am.

“I am not undergoing any rebranding soon. So, if you come for my lyrics saying that I’m toxic..No, I love women.

“Women know that I love them. I love women with my whole heart. I’m very nice and sweet to women. Every woman I have been with knows that I am nice and sweet to them.”

In another story, Ruger expressed his opinion that he is not a good fit for relationships.

His natural tendency is to think about getting serious with someone, but he frequently loses interest, he disclosed in a recent interview.

Ruger made it clear that he puts his health first and has learnt that relationships don’t make him happy.

He said: “I am a loverboy, it’s just now that I understand that relationships don’t work for me. But normally, my first instinct when I see a girl is to think about how I can get serious with her. But later, I just become unserious all of a sudden.”

When asked about his interactions with female fans, Ruger clarified that he maintains professional boundaries and does not engage in personal relationships with them.

He responded: “Honestly, no! The most I can give my female fan on stage is a flower. It’s like we’re working together; that’s how it is for me. I don’t take it beyond the stage, we work together.”
