Nigerian musician Inetimi Alfred Odon, better known by his stage name Timaya, has disclosed why he is unmarried despite having three children.
Three different women have given birth to the “Dem Mama” hitmaker’s four children. The musician and Barbara Fumnaya Nwaokolo welcomed their first two daughters, Emmanuella and Gracey. In addition, he has two children: Maya with Dunnie Onasanya and Emmanuel with Tamar.
Timaya stated in an interview with Naija FM that he has never been interested in marriage but acknowledged that he might change his mind.
The 44-year-old emphasised his respect for peace of mind and stated that he would not think twice about ending a marriage if he ever got married and experienced stress in the partnership.
“I have never been a marriage kind of guy right from time but it can change,” he said
“If I marry today and the girl disturbs me, I can get out of the marriage. In all my previous relationships, I was the one who got out because I don’t like stress.
“If you have a problem with me, let’s talk about it because I don’t like going to bed thinking about things, I go die o. I don’t like anything to bother me at all.”
The singer said being a father is “stressful” but enjoyable. He said his children stay with their respective mothers but visit him when he wants to spend time with them.
“Being a father is very good but stressful because you love them too much,” he added.
“They all live with their mothers but when I want to see them I tell their mothers. So, I will go to pick them and they all spend time with me.
“They spend two to three months with me then go back to their mothers. During Christmas, they also stay with me.”
