British R&B artist Craig David has disclosed that, in order to deal with his personal problems and concentrate on his own recovery process, he has decided to stay celibate for the past two years.

As per the singer, giving up has not only allowed him to reflect, but it has also positively influenced his creative output.

Craig David reflected on his choice and said he was amazed by how much his creativity had blossomed during this time of abstinence. He said that throughout the previous two years, his creativity had reached unprecedented heights and was at its best.

In a recent interview with TMZ, Craig David said:

It’s been two years now for me [without sex]. But funnily, much as I was like, ‘Wow!’ to myself for the moment, [my] creativity has been on a 100, on a max, for those two years”.

The musician expressed his hope that going celibate for this length of time will help him mentally prepare for his next relationship, even though he acknowledged the difficulties of staying single.

In another story, media personality Bolanle speaks on abstinence.

She stressed that in order to create a deeper emotional bond, it’s critical to remove oneself from the physical parts of relationships.

She emphasised how having sex can skew judgement, making it more difficult to see things objectively and make sensible decisions in romantic relationships. She debunks the misconception that having sex is merely a playful gesture, contending that the true purpose of the exchange is to deepen your relationship with the person you are truly in love with.

Bolanle highlighted the societal pressures and misconceptions surrounding s3x, while shedding light on how opting for abstinence can potentially lead to healthier and more fulfilling relationships.
