The police on Thursday, November 23, nabbed Damilola Adeparusi, commonly known as Chef Dammy, based on a petition filed against her by a cleric, Prophet Adegoke Jeremiah, also known as Billion Dollars Prophet.
Chef Dammy underwent arrest and questioning by the officers of the Police AIG Zone 17 in Akure.
DSP Hakeem, the spokesperson for Zone 17, confirmed the reports, clarifying that the police had received a petition against Chef Dammy, leading to her invitation by the police.
Also, the Zone in a terse statement on ‘X’ said: “A complaint was received by the office of AIG Zone 17 via a written petition against chef Dammy.
“She was then invited for interrogation which she honoured today as she came with a female staff from the office of Her Excellency, the First Lady of Ekiti State. Dammy was later released to her as the investigation will continue.”
“We assure you all that justice will be served without prejudice.”
DSP Hakeem stated that Dammy complied with the invitation and was subsequently released on administrative bail after presenting a surety.
Furthermore, The Nation has learned that Chef Dammy is scheduled to return to the Zone today for additional questioning.
Chef Dammy gained prominence when she initiated her cook-a-thon “test run” from June 11 to June 15, preparing over 100 pots of food during the four-day culinary marathon.
While many speculated that she aimed to surpass Hilda’s Guinness Book of World Records achievement, Chef Dammy clarified that it was merely a test run, intending to push her culinary abilities rather than breaking any records.
The nature of the conflict between the chef and her once-supportive pastor remains unclear. Chef Dammy, however, has pledged to reveal more details soon.
