The well-known socialite Pascal Okechukwu, also known as Cubana Chief Priest, has advised Nigerians not to avoid the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission [EFCC].
He clarified that anti-graft agency agents merely “investigate and prosecute,” not abusing suspects.
He said that no matter where they hid, the EFCC would always find people who reject invitations or flee from police.
The socialite praised the hospitality of the agency, stressing that they serve three-square meals in their cell.
On his Instagram page, Cubana Chief Priest wrote:
“The Eagle will always fly so high to catch you wherever you hide.
“No need to run when @officialefcc invites you, just pull up and answer them, they don’t bite, they don’t beat, they only investigate and prosecute. For their cell, toilet & bathroom dey, even breakfast, lunch & dinner is served so tell me why are you running.”
Recall that Cubana Chief Priest, appeared at the Federal High Court in Lagos for his arraignment on charges of allegedly disrespecting the naira.
Cubana Chief Priest, who is currently seated in the dock, is facing three counts before Justice Kehinde Ogundare. The charges relate to the misuse of the nation’s currency, specifically involving spraying and handling the currency inappropriately at a social gathering, which contravenes the provisions of the Central Bank Act of 2007.
It is alleged that on February 13, 2024, at Eko Hotel, he engaged in the act.
Cubana Chief Priest allegedly committed these offenses while participating in a social gathering, where he was reportedly observed tampering with N500 notes issued by the CBN.
He was seen spraying the currency continuously for a duration of two hours.
