Wizkid, Davido using controversy to stay relevant – Portable

Controversial artist Habeeb Okikiola, also known as Portable, has alleged that Wizkid and Davido are using their feud to stay relevant in the music industry.

He claims that the duo decided to exploit beef as promotion because their music is no longer marketable.

The “Zazu” singer begged them to quit disparaging one another in order to advance.

In the continuing social media conflict, Portable declared that he is not siding with any of them.

He posted the following on his Instagram story: “Shine yourself, don’t utilise your brother to shine. Some songs don’t sell anymore, yet they do get used for promotion.

“Let’s forget fake promotions, I get hit songs. Portable is bigger than them. Who is big is big…

“Me, I no dey for Davido. Me, I no dey for Wizkid. I dey for myself. That’s why I dey for those who dey for me.”

In a similar story, Wizkid revived his long-running feud with colleague, Davido, causing a heated debate among fans on social media.

Tuesday marked the beginning of the drama when Davido revealed his 2024 debut single. The artist disclosed that the song, which honours Nigeria’s 64th Independence Day, will be a blockbuster.

However, the ‘Ojuelegba’ hitmaker, who seemed unimpressed, took to his X page to write: “P***y boys dropping mid again,” adding, “Una don tire! Make una go rest small! 🦅”.

Although he did not mention the name of his colleague, fans interpreted the tweet as a direct shot at Davido.

A fan of Davido, however, fired back, accusing Wizkid of chasing clout using the name of the ‘Available’ hitmaker.

The user wrote: “So if you no beef @davido your song won’t sell??” Responding, Wizkid said: “I don’t beef wack niggas! We all know he’s wack! No talent! 🦅
