Reekado Banks has revealed that his senior colleague, Wizkid, expressed regret over their public fallout in 2020.
The rift began when Reekado Banks announced the release of their joint track, “Omo Olomo,” during the height of the EndSARS protests—an action Wizkid strongly criticised at the time.
Wizkid had publicly referred to Reekado Banks as a “fool” and “clout animal” for promoting the song during the nationwide demonstrations.
However, Reekado Banks disclosed that Wizkid later visited him, and the two have since reconciled.
Speaking in an interview on The Esther Show, Reekado shared that Wizkid admitted his reaction was “a bit edgy” and acknowledged that he could have handled the situation differently.
He also mentioned that both artists recently experienced the loss of their mothers, a shared grief that helped foster understanding and closure between them.
Banks said: “Recently he [Wizkid] came visiting my restaurant. We had a little talk and he was a little regretful about it. He was like he shouldn’t have gone that route. He mentioned his behaviour towards Don Jazzy as well.
“He was like we are three people in the game [music industry] who recently lost our moms. And he feels sorry about that time, so, we are good now.”
