I wrote 5 Songs for Drake in his “More life” Album- Burna boy
Nigerian talented artist; Burna Boy, revealed at the listening party for his forthcoming album titled “Outside” which held on Sunday January 21st, 2017 in Lagos, that he wrote 5 songs for Drake’s “More life” album.
The “Like to party” crooner mentioned how he met Drake in London and how the meeting turned into him writing songs for the “More life” album which Drake was working on at the time.
He further explained that, after he received confirmation from Drake and his team that one of the songs he wrote: “more life” would make it into the project, he was surprised when the song came out reworked and named as the title of the album.
The song became a hit and made it to the top of the billboard Hot 200 chart and also broke streaming charts. Burna boy however never got credit for writing the song.
“They told me they had picked it, but when the song came out it was…chopped”. He said.
The baritone singer however, got featured on the outro of Drake’s album “Get It Together”, which was a remake of South African DJ; Black Coffee, and Bucie’s 2010 single Superman.
The new version featured UK singer; Jorja Smith, singing about fixing a strained relationship. And Burna Boy’s “More Life” reworked and sampled at the outro of the record, making it entirely different from the version that he had written.
Burna Boy stated that he has moved on from the episode and that the original version of “More Life” which he wrote would be on his forthcoming album “Outside”, which is set for release on January 26th, 2018.
