Veteran Nollywood actor Yemi Solade has publicly apologized to fellow actor and filmmaker Afeez Owo for slapping him during a film shoot over 20 years ago.
Speaking on an episode of Behind the Fame African A-List, Yemi Solade recounted the incident, which took place during a film shoot in a town near the outskirts of Ibadan.
According to him, Afeez Owo, who was the production manager at the time, made certain accusations that sparked an emotional reaction from him.
“Let me apologise to Afeez Abiodun,” Solade said. “He was laying accusations, and I got infuriated. That slap came from nowhere in the dark. I didn’t like that I did it.”
He shared that following the incident, Afeez quietly left the set early the next morning. While Solade mentioned he had discussed the matter with others over the years, he felt it was important to address it publicly and extend a heartfelt apology directly to Owo.
“I don’t like insults, and that could be my weakness,” he admitted.
