Nollywood stars and filmmakers in the Yoruba movie industry have gathered to pray for veteran actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, amid his ongoing health challenges.
In a video circulating on social media on Friday, prominent actors were seen praying for the actor and seeking Allah’s mercy, intervention, strength and complete recovery.health challenges
Those featured in the prayer session included veteran actors Jide Kosoko, Fausat Balogun, popularly known as Madam Saje, Yinka Quadri, Rotimi Salami, Mr Latin, Adewale Elesho and Antar Laniyan.
The actors prayed for Allah to intervene in Ogogo’s condition, strengthen him and grant him complete healing.
The prayer session comes amid growing concern over the veteran actor’s health, with his family and colleagues calling for prayers and support.
Kosoko appealed to fans, colleagues and well-wishers to continue praying for Ogogo while explaining why the actor could not be moved to another medical facility despite offers of spiritual and medical assistance.
In a statement shared on his Instagram page on Wednesday, Kosoko also appreciated members of the public, colleagues and well-wishers for their concern and support for Ogogo.
He explained that the actor’s current medical condition made it impossible to move him from the hospital where he is receiving treatment.
The development followed an emotional appeal by Ogogo’s daughters, who sought medical assistance for their father amid reports that he was battling stage-four cancer.
Ogogo’s condition has since triggered an outpouring of support from members of the Nigerian entertainment industry, with colleagues urging the public to continue praying for him.
The latest prayer session further highlights the solidarity among Yoruba Nollywood actors as they rally around the veteran actor during his health battle.
