Billionaire businessman Femi Otedola recently offered heartfelt advice to his daughter, Temi, and her husband, singer Oluwatosin Ajibade, popularly known as Mr Eazi, during their wedding reception.

The couple tied the knot in a private ceremony in Iceland in August 2025, after previously hosting two other celebrations — a wedding in Monaco on May 9, which coincided with Mr Eazi’s late mother’s birthday, and a Yoruba traditional wedding at the Otedola family home in Dubai in July.

In a video from the Iceland reception now making the rounds, Otedola praised the couple’s deep love and entrepreneurial spirit, describing their union as “made in heaven.” He encouraged Temi to put her marriage first, saying: “You found a great guy, very great guy, blessed guy. He’s come from a very decent family. One thing I’ll advise you… you have to succumb to the whims and caprices of your husband. Okay? He’s your husband, he’s your boss. There’s no more dad, don’t call me up.”

Highlighting their compatibility, he continued: “One thing I like about both of you and I’ve observed is, you’re truly in love with each other. Truly, truly in love with each other. Temi is an entrepreneur. Tosin is an entrepreneur. So you match each other. This is made in heaven. For Tosin, you’re going to go places. I’ve seen the entrepreneurial skill in you. When we were much younger, we used to think we used to hustle, but not like your generation. You are hustlers, real hustlers. And it’s always paid off. Continue to love, Temi.”

He further advised the newlyweds to resolve disagreements privately, stating: “When you have issues, problems, just keep it within yourself. Never call any friend that have this problem. Just keep it within your walls. And God will bless you and bless your marriage.”

To round off his speech, Otedola presented the couple with a wedding gift, saying: “I thought of what should I give this couple as a present. I thought, I’ve splintered my savings account. I brought my gift. This gift I present to you. You go out to the world. You’re both entrepreneurs. Out-think, out-manoeuvre, and out-spend. You’ll be great people. This is my gift for you. I thank you all and I wish you safe travels back to various places you’ve come from. God bless you all. I love you all.”

Following the wedding, Temi officially updated her surname from Otedola to Ajibade on social media, captioning a post with, “Mr and Mrs Ajibade.”

Her decision reignited a familiar debate within Nigerian feminist circles about whether women should adopt their husband’s surname or retain their maiden name after marriage.
