Nigerian Producer and singer Young Jonn recently talked about his unexpected journey to stardom.
Young John revealed in an interview with Revolt that he didn’t originally intend to become a singer, but events brought him into the industry.
He noted the distinctions in hustle, grind, and business and characterised his move from producer to performer as a learning process.
Although he admitted that it takes some getting used to, he believes he is starting to grasp the business better.
Young Jonn said,
“It was a learning process. It’s a whole different ball game. It’s a whole different hustle, grind and business.
“It took me time, but I think I’m getting hold of it.”
Recall that, Young Jonn shared his most embarrassing career experience.
The “Dada” hitmaker recalled being embarrassed during the 2014 video shoot for his former boss Olamide’s “Awon Goons Mi” when music video director Unlimited LA yelled at him and instructed him to get out of front of the camera.
He shared this experience in a recent chat with MTV Base.
“Several years ago, on the set of ‘Awon Goons Mi,’ which Pheelz and I produced, Unlimited LA was directing the video. I was new to the YBNL record label, so he probably didn’t recognize me. Everyone was taking turns posing in front of the camera, but when it was my turn, Unlimited LA yelled at me to get out of the shot. I was mortified and wished I could disappear. But that’s all in the past now,” he said.
