‘Your legacy lives on,’ Singer Mr Eazi announces mum’s death

Popular Nigerian singer, Oluwatosin Ajibade, fondly called Mr Eazi, has announced the passage of his mother.

Eazi announced the passing of Ifeoma Ajibade via an Instagram post on Thursday.

The 33-year-old singer shared a photo of himself with his late mother alongside an emotional tribute.

Eazi described her as his “toughest critic and truest fan”, acknowledging the profound impact she had on his life.

“Thank you, Mummy For your strength, your sacrifices, your unwavering faith. For raising us with love, discipline, and devotion to God,” he wrote.

“For teaching me confidence, entrepreneurship, forgiveness, and family.

“You were my greatest protector, my toughest critic, and truest Fan. You were not perfect, but you were perfect to me. Your legacy lives on. Rest well, Ifeoma Edith Ajibade.”

The cause of death was however not revealed.

Following the announcement, fans and colleagues have flooded his comment section with condolences and messages of support.

Efya, the Ghanaian singer, wrote: “Tosin, your mom’s love and light will always shine through you. She raised an incredible person, and her legacy lives on in your kindness and strength. Sending you love and warmth always”.

Korede Bello said: “Brother, my deepest condolences. May God comfort you and yours.”
