BREAKING: ADC 2019 presidential candidate, Mailafiya is dead
Mr. Obadiah Mailafiya, who contested the 2019 presidential election against President Muhammadu Buhari under the platform of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), is dead.
According to reports Mr. Mailafiya, who is a former official of the African Development Bank Group and one-time Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) died on Sunday.
Mailafiya, who was persuaded to join politics after the famous historic “handshake” by the coalition of the Middle Belt Forum (MBF) and the South Afenifere of Yoruba land, Ohanaeze Ndigbo and PANDEF of Niger Delta, died at the National Hospital, Abuja after an undisclosed illness.
Born 24 December 1956, Mailafiya, a graduate of Oxford University, was Deputy Governor of the CBN from 5 May 2005 to 26 March 2007.
