Buhari’s visit: NSCDC, Police deploy 3,500 personnel to Niger

The Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) and the police in Niger State have deployed over 3,500 officers and men for President Muhammadu Buhari’s one day visit to the state on Thursday.

The two security organisations have also mobilised their Kwara, Kogi and Kebbi counterparts “to be on standby” for the exercise.

While the NSCDC would deploy 1,500 men to strategic locations for the visit, the police would assign 2,000 men.

The state Commandant of the NSCDC, Mr Philip Ayuba, who made this known to journalists on Wednesday in Minna, said his men would be placed at strategic positions along the route and at the venue.

Ayuba solicited the cooperation of residents with security agencies as they carried out their duties in “a dignified manner”.

Niger State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, ASP Muhammad Abubakar, also disclosed that the operatives would be deployed for adequate security for the presidential visit.
