COVID-19 kills 10 people in Lagos, as Nigeria posts 618 new cases

COVID-19 has killed 10 people in Lagos, as 618 new cases have been reported in 15 states across the country.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, disclosed this early Saturday morning, saying that the figures represented what the nation reported on Friday.

However, the 618 fresh cases reported on Friday declined from the 835 cases posted the previous day in Nigeria.

The 10 deaths from Lagos, according to the NCDC, were recorded on August 25.

Of the 618 new cases posted on Friday, Lagos reported 312, a rise from the 217 cases it raked in on Thursday.

Akwa Ibom recorded 89 fresh cases, a rise from the 11 cases it reported the previous day, while Edo posted 71 cases, a rise from the 45 cases raked in the previous day.

So far, Nigeria has recorded 190,333 confirmed COVID-19 cases, with 169,815 survivors discharged and 2,308 deaths recorded.

The 190,333 confirmed cases were gotten from 2,727,834 tests conducted so far in the country, while active cases stood at 18,210.
