The Federal Ministry of Education on Wednesday announced the redeployments of 11 directors and principals of some federal unity colleges, saying the shake-up was to strengthen service delivery and fill existing vacancies, The Punch report.
The Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu, approved the redeployments, which affected the Directors of Basic and Secondary Education, Quality Assurance Services and Tertiary Education Department.
According to a release by the ministry’s Deputy Director, Press and Public Relations, Ben Goong, the new directors and principals must hand over latest by Monday, September 9.
He said, “Top on the list of directors redeployed are Mrs Abdulkadir Binta, Principal, Federal Government College, Kwali, Abuja, who is now the Director, Basic and Secondary Education Department in the ministry. She will take over from Dr Lami Amodu, the current director who will retire on October 14, 2019.
“The current Principal of the Federal Science and Technical College, Yaba, Dr Ufoegbune Ogochukwu, has been moved to the ministry’s headquarters to be Director, Federal Education Quality Assurance Services, while Mr Omada Idakwoji of the Federal Science and Technical College, Uromi, takes over from Dr Ogochukwu, as principal.
“Similarly, Dr Yakubu Oyinloye of the Queens’ College, Lagos State, is to take over from Mrs Akamo Esther as Principal, Federal Government Girls’ College, Sagamu, Ogun State, while Dr Essien Funmi of the Federal Government College, Ijanikin, Lagos State, is to take over from Dr Yakubu Oyinloye as Principal, Queens’ College, Lagos.
“Akamo of the FGGC, Sagamu is now posted to the FGGC, Ijanikin, to replace Dr Funmi as Principal; also, Mrs Asmau Yakubu of the ministry’s Tertiary Education Department is to replace Mr Manko Kudu as Principal, Federal Government Academy, Suleja, Niger State.”
