Former Adamawa Gov. Michika is dead
Former governor of Adamawa state Abubakar Saleh Michika has passed on.
It was gathered that he died on Saturday night at the Federal Medical Centre in Yola, the state capital.
Vanguard reports that Michika, who was the first civilian governor of the state, had been in coma in the hospital for days before he finally died.
Michika’s son, Hafiz, had confirmed that his father was in coma with the state Governor Bindo Jibril visiting him on Saturday.
“The doctors say he cannot be moved until he is stable. For three days now, he has been in coma and there is nothing we can do but to pray; if they had allowed him to seek medical check-up, this would not have happened,” the son had said.
“Do you know that my father got only one car from the government, despite the fact that he is entitled to more? They even denied him of pension as the first executive governor of Adamawa State.”
