The arrival of Kano State’s 540 pilgrims in Madinah on Saturday has raised the number of Nigerians currently on pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia to 2,480.

The state’s first batch, comprising 292 males, was transported by Max Air Limited to Jeddah in its fifth flight to the Holy land.

The airline had earlier transported pilgrims from Kogi during its inaugural flight; Kwara, Nasarawa State and Kaduna State.

The pilgrims are accommodated and fed twice daily in different hotels by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON).

Inquiries by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) shows the pilgrims are in high spirits, especially with the location of their camps near the Holy Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah.

They are expected to worship in the Holy Mosque and visit historical sites such as the tomb of the Prophet and his disciples.
