As the protest of Osun state pensioners over non payment of their pensions by the state government enter its third day, the candidate of the Social Democratic Party in the September 22nd governorship election in Osun state, Senator Iyiola Omisore has told the protesting pensioners in the state that their cries have reached him.

In a realese made available by Idowu Afolami, Senator Omisore said he did not only sympathise with these pensioners but also emphatise with them.

According to the former deputy governor and two terms senator, it’s disheartening to see pensioners going to bed with empty stomachs due to non payment of their gratuities and monthly stipends

“Its inhuman and height of insensitivity for any government to treat both serving and retired civil servants with such disdain”
“Its the height of disrespect and dehumanisation for the government of Osun State to turn a deaf ear to the crying of those who spent their useful period of lives to work for the progress of the state” he said.

He pointed out that a labourer deserves his wages adding that all religions frown at the attitude of the present administration in Osun state towards it’s workers

He therefore urged the protesting pensioners to pursue their demands within the ambit of the law and not allow hoodlums to highjack such peaceful protests.

He also advised the government of Osun State to be tolerant and see those protesting as people demanding for their rights by ensuring adequate security for their safety.

” It breaks my heart when you see people who have laboured begging to be paid, it’s their right not privilege. Government should pay them as and when due”.

Senator Omisore told the workers that their crying have reached the ear of their creator and God Himself will send help from the above.

He urged them to use their weapons which is their PVCs to send this tyrannical government home come September 22nd by voting for a candidate that will hit the ground running.

“Aside from hitting the ground running, such candidate must be worker friendly based on his antecedents not those who have been part and parcel of their present woes or a complete neophyte who will spend years struggling for where to start from .

“I remain the only workers and pensioners friend amongst the entire 2018 gubernatorial candidates. I had shown it before and shall always put them in my first charge if elected”.
It will be recalled that Senator Iyiola Omisore as a Deputy Governor to chief Bisi Akande supported the workers and pensioners.

He approved their salaries and entitlements, an action which drew a wedge between him and chief Akande and which was also the remote cause of the crisis between him and Governor Bisi Akande.
