LAGESC van kills two, injures three others

Two persons were reportedly killed on Thursday at Ojuwoye Market junction in Mushin by an operational van belonging to the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps (LAGESC).

It was learnt that a combined team of LAGESC and the Lagos State Task Force on Environmental and Special Offences (Enforcement) Unit had raided the area around 9am to arrest motorcycle riders.

The deceased were identified as one Medinat, an apprentice hairdresser, and an elderly woman, who was passing by.

Three others, including a trader, also reportedly sustained injuries.

Recall that Governor Akinwunmi Ambode had earlier launched the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps (LAGESC) to take up responsibities from the now defunct Kick Against Indiscipline (KAI).
